The Online Advanced English course series consists of Online Advanced English I and Online Advanced English II, each offered in the first and second semesters of the academic year, respectively. Each course carries one credit. As their syllabi and materials are independent, students may take them in any order.

The course is designed for advanced English users, tailoring learning content to their proficiency level. It guides students from understanding course materials to utilizing English as a tool to learn and absorb knowledge across various disciplines. Through course materials, students learn how to apply English listening, reading, and learning strategies, enabling them to correctly and promptly comprehend and receive information in various contexts. Moreover, they further develop the ability to integrate, analyze, comment, and discuss topics in English. The course covers a wide range of knowledge areas including humanities, arts, politics, economics, and sciences. The depth of content is akin to that found in news English or chapters of textbooks from various fields, aligning with the level of knowledge and depth of issues expected in a well-rounded university education.

The course is conducted entirely online through self-learning. After logging into the course website, students can access the weekly modules and exercises, arrange their own study schedule, and pariticipate in scheduled discussion sessions, online quizzes, and in-person midterm or final exams.
